Cricket and shopping reap great rewards for Crescat Boulevard’s ‘Crescat Millionaire’

Crescat Boulevard has announced its Crescat Millionaire – the bumper prize winner for its spectacular cheer, shop and win World Cup Carnival that was held to commemorate the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at the shopping mall from 30 May to 14 July 2019.

Ms. Shameena Pallie was chosen as the lucky winner after being picked from the Crescat Millionaire raffle draw during the riveting England vs New Zealand finals.

When not catching the country’s favourite sport on the big screen set up for the festival at the mall’s lobby, visitors were encouraged to make the most of the mall’s retail offerings with attractive limited time shopping discounts.

The Crescat Millionaire promotion promised shoppers the chance to walk away with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 every week, with a minimum spend of Rs. 2,500. At the end of the tournament’s run, one grand prize winner would walk away with a whopping Rs. 1 million – Crescat Boulevard’s biggest giveaway for the entire season.

An ecstatic Ms. Pallie never imagined that her purchases at one of her favourite shops at Crescat Boulevard, Dilly & Carlo, would reap such an enormous reward.

Directly connected to the adjacent 5-star Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo’s most centrally located shopping centre is exceptionally diverse in its retail and leisure offering. From perfumes, clothing, jewellery, speciality boutiques, to salons and spas, the two-storeyed Crescat Boulevard is known for its wide range of cafes and food outlets offering an all-inclusive shopping experience with ample parking.

While die-hard Sri Lanka cricket fans may have missed out on the opportunity to cheer on their team live in England and Wales, the Crescat World Cup Carnival served as a great way to watch the ICC World Cup 2019.

In addition to the massive HD viewing screen at the mall’s lobby, fans got the chance to sit back in their bean bags and catch the play-by-play action real-time, throughout the six-week tournament in all of the games’ glory.

A live DJ set the cricket ground atmosphere, while a whole host of additional cricket-themed fun activities were organised with Bowl Out competitions, and a photobooth.

Whether having dropped by to grab a bite, scan the stores, or even just check the score, all visitors to Crescat Boulevard during the most anticipated sporting event of the year were able to wholly immerse themselves in a most thrilling and entertaining World Cup atmosphere.
