Bank of Ceylon continues Legacy : 42nd Annual White Sand Paving Ceremony at Anuradhapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi.

The Bank of Ceylon once again organized the annual pinkama, a ritual of laying white sand at the revered Anuradhapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya. This significant event, aimed at invoking blessings for peace, harmony, and prosperity across the nation, was conducted under the guidance of the most Venerable Chief  Incumbent Atamasthanadhipathi, Nuwara Kalaviya  Pallegama Hemarathana  Thero. The Chairman of Bank of Ceylon, Mr. Kavinda de Zoysa, and General Manager/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Russel Fonseka notably, the Bank of Ceylon’s Board of Directors, corporate and executive management, staff members from North Central Province, members of Bank’s Buddhist Association and other officials participated for the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of this spiritual tradition. The Anuradhapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is the Southern branch of Sri Maha Bodhi in India which revered worldwide by Buddhists, as a place where Siddhartha Gautama Bodhisattva achieved enlightenment and Lord Buddha bestowed the animisa lochana.
