PAINTS TO SPONSOR FOX HILL SUPERCROSS

Fox Hill Supercross is set to make a triumphant return after a hiatus of five years, thrilling racing enthusiasts in Diyathalawa on April 21.

With over 200 entries for both bikes and cars pouring in, organisers anticipate even more participants for this prestigious event, which holds a prime spot on Sri Lanka’s racing calendar.

The meticulously refurbished track is currently in impeccable condition, with organisers prioritising spectator safety above all else. The event will feature 10 bike events and 14 car events, promising a day packed with adrenaline-fueled excitement.

Hosted by the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA), the event aims to raise funds to enhance the institution’s infrastructure and training facilities, aspiring to match the standards set by military academies across the region.

Expressing gratitude to sponsors, SLAS (Sri Lanka Automobile Sports) President Ashar Hameem remarked, “This marks the beginning of an exciting year of racing, with overseas participants adding to the vibrancy of the event, expected to draw a large crowd of spectators.”

This was revealed at a media conference chaired by Major General MTI Mahalekam, Commandant of the SLMA, alongside SLAS President Hameem and sponsors on March 28 in Colombo, underscoring the anticipation and excitement surrounding the event.

Asian Causeway Paints leads the sponsorship lineup, joined by several other partners in support of this thrilling spectacle.

The 28th Fox Hill Supercross promises a day of exhilarating entertainment for locals and holidaymakers alike against the backdrop of the historic ‘Fox Hill’ landscape, renowned for its picturesque charm, the event will push both machines and competitors to their limits on the beloved track.

Delving into its storied past, Fox Hill traces its origins to the British colonial era, with its iconic Fox emblem etched into the hillside in 1913. Since the inception of the Fox Hill Supercross track in 1993, the event has become a staple of Sri Lanka’s racing scene, culminating in the grand Silver Jubilee celebration in 2017.
