Honoured with Euromoney Accolade
Cementing its leadership status for non-interest based banking in the country, Amana has been honoured with the title of Best Islamic Bank in Sri Lanka at the prestigious Euromoney Islamic Finance Awards. As cited by Euromoney, this accolade reflects Amana Bank’s remarkable year of growth, innovation and unwavering commitment to people-friendly banking.
The Euromoney Islamic Finance Awards, which are part of Euromoney’s globally accepted award platforms, are given to non-interest based financial institutions that have demonstrated outstanding performance during previous 12 months and recognize the institutions that have made an impact in their respective markets and contributed to the development of the non-interest based banking and the finance market in general. The awards are judged by a panel made up of Euromoney’s journalists and research team following a strict performance based evaluation criteria.
During 2023, Amana Bank achieved its best ever financial performance with a 76% growth in Profit After Tax to reach LKR 1.4 billion, while also strengthening its capital base to LKR 20 billion with a fresh capital infusion, which places the Bank on robust launch pad to grow and seize potential opportunities.
