EVERY FACET TELLS A STORY

Designed to be admired in the most illuminating light is the 34th Edition of FACETS Sri Lanka 2027 organised by the Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association (SLGJA) which takes place from 4 to 6 January at Cinnamon Life, City of Dreams.
The exhibition will converge over 100 participants featuring Sri Lanka’s finest and captivating gems and jewellery on one distinctive platform. With global buyers in key markets such as the US, Europe, the Middle East, India, China and Thailand expected to attend, FACETS promises an immersive experience in mineral colour while reflecting the country as a trusted destination for excellence in the international gem and jewellery trade.
Curated gemstone and jewellery showcases along with distinctive programmes, positions FACETS as more than a dazzling exhibition. The unveiling of the ‘Internal World of the Sapphire’ – the event’s leitmotif, encapsulates the theme ‘Formed By Nature, Refined By Time,’ symbolic of the enduring and often concealed processes involved in the creation of things that are of timeless value.

The recurring visual theme of the Sri Lankan Sapphire is further carried through with the concept that true beauty is never only surface level, it often lies deep within. Creating global opportunities for miners, cutters, lapidaries, jewellers, exporters, entrepreneurs, designers and buyers, SLGJA President Akram Cassim speaking during the media briefing to announce next year’s event remarked that FACETS connects across generations even transcending time while going beyond mere buying and selling.
Chairman of FACETS Shezmin Mansoor reiterated the island’s status as one of the richest gemstone deposits in the world with over 50 varieties while carving out its mystical heritage, age-old craftsmanship and bold innovation.
The continued success of FACETS over the year’s lies not only in its ingenuity and scalability but its apparent commitment by each one involved; an authentic vision to drive Sri Lanka’s gemstone and jewellery sector to new standards of excellence, both locally and globally. Dates for FACETS 2028, 2029 and 2030 were also announced, reinforcing the exhibition’s dedication to its long-term strategic vision.
