FALDO JUNIOR SERIES SRI LANKA POWERED BY DFCC BANK CROWNS CHAMPIONS AT RCGC

Kaya Daluwatte named Overall Champion following three days of championship play

Colombo, Sri Lanka, xx January 2026 – The Faldo Junior Series Sri Lanka powered by DFCC Bank concluded at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) following three days of championship play from 6 to 8 January, with Kaya Daluwatte named Overall Champion. Drawing over 100 young golfers from across Sri Lanka and overseas, the tournament brought together rising talent under the globally recognised Faldo Series, founded by six-time Major champion Sir Nick Faldo.

Now in its second consecutive year with DFCC Bank as title sponsor, the championship continues to strengthen a structured pathway for junior golfers to progress from national competition to international fairways. The tournament was contested across clearly defined age and gender categories, creating consistent competitive standards while building confidence and tournament readiness from an early stage.

The event featured Faldo Juniors for boys and girls in the 13 – 16 and 17 – 21 age categories, alongside Faldo Futures for boys and girls in the 7 – 8, 9 – 10, and 11 – 12 age groups. This structure supports early talent identification while giving young golfers meaningful exposure to high-quality competition and a clear progression route.

At the conclusion of the tournament, winners were recognized at the prize giving held at RCGC:

The tournament was organized by RCGC, Sri Lanka’s most historic golf institution, whose continued efforts to bring the Faldo Series to Sri Lanka are helping raise junior golf standards and strengthen the country’s presence on the regional golfing calendar.

Winners from the Faldo Juniors categories also secured the opportunity to represent Sri Lanka at the Faldo Junior Tour Asia Grand Final, offering exposure to elite regional competition and international benchmarking that plays an important role in shaping high-performance athletes and future professionals.
