NVQ Level 4 Accreditation for Barista, Setting a New Benchmark in Coffee Education and Professional Training


Colombo, Friday 7 November 2025: Barista Coffee Lanka (Pvt) Ltd proudly announced that it has been awarded National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 04 accreditation under the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC). The NVQ Level 04 Barista Training Program, the first of its kind in Sri Lanka, was conceptualized, co-created, and fully funded by Barista. This achievement underscores the company’s long-term commitment to advancing vocational education in alignment with international coffee industry standards and best practices.

The accreditation marks a significant milestone in Barista’s ongoing efforts to elevate the standards of coffee education and professional development in Sri Lanka. Developed by Barista’s team of industry experts in collaboration with TVEC, the program integrates academic instruction with extensive practical training, producing a new generation of highly skilled baristas ready to meet the demands of both local and global hospitality markets.

This accomplishment represents years of dedicated work in developing structured training pathways and professional recognition for the craft. Barista extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. G.L. Dharmasri Wickramasinghe, Chairman of TVEC; Dr. K.A.
