Q: Could you share some of the organisation’s key milestones?
A: Prime Lands – the parent company of Prime Lands Residencies – was inaugurated 26 years ago. Since our humble beginnings as a four person operation, we’ve come a long way to become one of Sri Lanka’s most coveted groups of companies and a market leader in real estate.
We own the largest land bank in the country, and our portfolio has been expanding exponentially to include land, homes, high rises and ultra-luxury apartments.
Last year, Prime Lands Residencies was listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and recorded a profit after tax of Rs. 1,158 million for the first nine months of financial year 2021/22; and it registered a profit after tax of 450 million rupees for the third quarter of the year.
We have been acknowledged as the first and highest credit rated real estate group in the country, and ICRA Lanka has reaffirmed our rating of ‘[SL]A’ with a Stable outlook, signifying our financial soundness and strength.
We’re humbled to be the leading real estate consumer brand in Sri Lanka and among the country’s 100 Most Valuable Consumer Brands. In addition, LMD has ranked us as the Most Respected real estate organisation for four years and Most Awarded real estate entity for two consecutive years.

Q: What is your organisation’s strategic intent?

Customers have aspirational real estate needs – they invest their life’s savings when they acquire land, build a house, buy an ultra-luxury apartment to lead their dream lifestyle, or purchase a holiday home or resort type condominium to retire peacefully. All these needs are unique and we’re committed to fulfilling them.
Q: So how do you cater to evolving customer needs?
A: Urbanisation is relatively high in Sri Lanka; people yearn to live in urban areas due to employment opportunities, accessibility to leading schools, easy commuting, amenities and convenience.
Our lifestyle apartments are accessible to more people, not only the elite. We create better places for communities with gated neighbourhoods that provide privacy, safety and organised environments, and individual housing projects.

Q: How is Prime Residencies driving industry trends – and what can we expect in the next 12 months?
A: The next 12 months will be challenging given the prevailing macroeconomic challenges. Yet, as market leader, we must drive the industry forward.

We provide a gamut of investment opportunities with interest free instalment plans and work collaboratively with leading commercial banks to offer financial solutions to help customers achieve their aspirational real estate needs.
Prime Residencies has several innovative projects lined up that will change the real estate landscape in Sri Lanka.
Our ultra-luxury villa project in Tangalle provides exclusive luxury living experiences, and the projects in Peliyagoda and Katunayake – located near highway entrances – offer easy access to metropolitan Colombo.
