INIVOS
INIVOS: SHAPING A RESILIENT FUTURE IN THE BUSINESS WORLD
Q: As a recently established organisation, what can you tell us about Inivos’ journey so far?
A: Inivos commenced operations in 2019 as an IT consultancy and it now operates with over 140 professionals working out of Colombo and different parts of the world.
When founding Inivos, our goal was to create a service-oriented business. Initially, it was planned as an ERP consultancy firm, but it evolved over time and grew into a leading provider of business solutions to our clients with a significant presence both domestically and abroad.
We later realised the potential for product development and expansion in the technology sector, and formed a technology division to meet the demands of large enterprises from the US, the UK and Australia, which were looking for a reputable technology partner in Sri Lanka.
This helped us create a vast talent pool of tech resources and expand our company by offering strategic software development services to clients worldwide. We anticipate sustained growth and success in the years to come as we continue to help our clients achieve their business objectives.
Inivos has been steered and moulded to become what it is today thanks to its leadership, which comprises five members, who count valuable expertise with several multinationals. Each of them carries over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. We have formed our company to have a unique, friendly and family-oriented culture.
Q: How does Inivos stand out as recruiters?
A: We approach our potential candidates in a unique way. There are many individuals who would like to pursue a career in the IT industry but haven’t found the right place or people to guide them.
Therefore, Inivos has taken the initiative to transform non-IT resources into IT resources. We discovered during this phase, that many potential talents can succeed in the field with the right coaching. There are several great examples who found their passion in the IT industry and are working at Inivos right now.
Since the inception of the company, we have provided a unique internship programme for school leavers in partnership with internationally affiliated universities, where we offer a comprehensive scholarship and a full-time employment opportunity. This allows them to obtain practical experience while completing their education under the guidance of industry experts.
From the beginning of the internship, they are guided and mentored in all aspects of project implementation, and the product development cycle. As they gain experience during their tenure at Inivos, they will eventually be able to take ownership of the project and learn the soft skills necessary to engage in end-to-end project implementation.
We encourage our teams to gain domain knowledge instead of merely delivering a piece of software. This way, the software engineer becomes a solution consultant or technical adviser, and the application consultant becomes a business consultant.
Q: What are the goals that your company is currently working towards?
A: We want to become a global organisation that provides business solutions, implementation and software development.
Overall, we are helping our customers achieve business transformation through ERP implementation and product development. We also understood that if we want to expand even further, it is crucial to step out of Sri Lanka and pursue international business consulting prospects through partnerships.
Therefore, we partnered with consultancy firms in the US and the UK, and an app development company in the UK, and have established a dedicated team in Sri Lanka to cater to the international market for business consultancies and product development.
Currently, we are working on various projects in Australia, Singapore, Bangladesh, the UAE, Oman, the UK, Sweden and North America. We hope to expand our reach even further by the end of this year.
Q: Is IT one of our growth segments?
A: Since IT was one of the industries that thrived during the pandemic, we need to train more IT graduates. If it maintains its current growth momentum, IT could end up becoming Sri Lanka’s main source of foreign exports.
Our pool of IT specialists, that’s been drawn from universities, is very strong. We aim to prepare them with the right skills to be employable in the industry even before they graduate. This is because most IT organisations are competing for limited resources due to the increase in demand for information technology, this will broaden Sri Lanka’s IT resource base.
Regarding our potential for growth, Inivos is preparing for a better tomorrow by transforming its operations both internally and externally, as well as seeking to develop its employees into better versions of themselves.
