Spring & Summer launch ‘New Life’: Clothing Donation Program

  • The brand’s latest initiative is made in support of ethical consumer behaviour in fashion
  • The popular clothing brand sustains slow-fashion initiatives through a new CSR programme targeted at Sri Lankan audiences

Colombo, Sri Lanka – March 2022 – Spring & Summer in partnership with Greater Giving Sri Lanka – a nonprofit organisation, launched ‘New Life’ as part of its ESG programme in March, 2023. ‘New Life’ is aimed at encouraging, ethical fashion practices for better consumer behaviour and calls for customers to donate their clothes at any Spring & Summer outlet, islandwide before March 20, 2023.

The ‘New Life’ project aims to collect and distribute used clothing to rural communities around Sri Lanka. The project is forecasted to assist community members, ranging from toddlers to senior citizens.

The partnership with Greater Giving Sri Lanka offers Spring & Summer the perfect marriage of brands, as both organisations, through their CSR measures focus on achieving social justice, and uplifting Sri Lankan communities across the island in order to alleviate poverty.

Speaking with Co-Founder, Spring & Summer – Mrs. Shyamalie Wijegunawardena, noted “We understand and deeply feel the plight of Sri Lanka’s communities. It is with this understanding that we partnered with Greater Giving Sri Lanka to conduct this programme. It is our duty and opportunity to provide for our communities in times of need. We are happy to partner with greater giving to make this happen”.
