Culinary Enthusiasts Behold – MasterChef Judge and Restauranteur
George Calombaris!

Friday 9th June 2017, Colombo: Cinnamon Life welcomed the renowned Australian chef, restaurateur and MasterChef judge George Calombaris to Sri Lanka, at an exclusive media gathering held at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo. George’s visit is the very first high-profile lifestyle event, to be hosted by Cinnamon Life as part of the brand’s ongoing effort to bring world-class culinary events and well-loved celebrity personalities to Sri Lanka.

As part of his tour to Sri Lanka George visited Habarana and traveled to key destinations; Minneriya National Park, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the traditional village of Hiriwadunna. Commenting on his time in Sri Lanka he said, “Sri Lanka truly is a magical place to explore, and I’ve completely enjoyed immersing myself in the local culture and sampling all of the delicious food and delicacies that this beautiful island has to offer. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming events that have been planned by the Cinnamon Life team, and I hope that I’ll be able to share my own journey, cooking style and techniques as well as a few signature dishes with culinary enthusiasts in Colombo.”

Over the weekend, George will curate two 5-course Greek-themed dinners, an exclusive high tea and a highly anticipated Masterclass, giving culinary enthusiasts in Colombo the rare chance to meet him, learn from him and indulge in his trademark authentic and contemporary Greek cuisine.

George Calombaris is facilitated by Cinnamon Life with the support of the Australian High Commission. Other partners include Land Rover Jaguar – the official vehicle partner, Walkers Tours – the inbound tour operator, Cinnamon Air as domestic airline partner, Dilmah Tea as the high tea partner. Scheduled for completion in 2020, Cinnamon Life is an integrated resort developed by Sri Lanka’s premier listed conglomerate, the John Keells Group. Upon completion, the project will comprise 800 luxury hotel rooms, that will operate as part of the Cinnamon chain, an array of entertainment facilities, apartments, retail and entertainment malls, office spaces, and many other attractions. The development’s iconic design by Cecil Balmond will span across 4.5 million square feet and it envisioned to be the epicentre of modern South Asia.
