Sri Lanka’s Trade Information Portal (TIP) was officially unveiled on 20 July, achieving one of the major milestones in the WTO’s trade facilitation plan.

Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen explained that the portal is “an integral part of the trade policy and export promotion strategy at a national level.”

The portal is intended to facilitate import and export activities by providing businesses and other stakeholders with necessary information. It contains over 1,000 web pages of information, eliminating the need to visit 43 organisations for trade information, thereby reducing the time and costs associated with conducting trading activities.
