The Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) ship Amagiri arrived in Sri Lanka as part of a three-day goodwill visit to the country.

According to Sri Lanka Navy media, the Japanese ship was accorded a traditional naval welcome by the Sri Lanka Navy upon its arrival at the Hambantota Port.

During its stay in the island, Amagiri – an Asagiri-class destroyer – is scheduled to conduct a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with the Sri Lanka Navy’s offshore patrol vessel Samudura.
