The Department of Census and Statistics (DCS) reported that inflation in Sri Lanka – as measured by the change in the Colombo Consumers’ Price Index (CCPI) – declined to 3.8 percent in April from 4.2 in the previous month.

In April, the CCPI for all items recorded an increase of 0.08 percent to 121.5.

Year on year inflation of the food group declined to three percent in April from 5.1 percent in the previous month. However, the non-food group inflation increased to four percent during this period compared to 3.7 percent in March.
