“Quill It” by AIESEC in University of Kelaniya and Imperial College of Business Studies to nurture young writers and bloggers in Sri Lanka

Quill It, a unique blogging competition organized by AIESEC in University of Kelaniya, will take place among the students of Grade 9 and above in the Colombo and Gampaha districts. The event is organized in collaboration with Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS), one of the fastest growing education providers in Sri Lanka.

Quill It is conducted with the aim of providing a platform for teenagers to showcase their writing skills and creative mindset and thereby gain recognition for their talents. The competition will help discover, recognize and foster the talents of school students and encourage them to explore a career path in writing and blogging. It is an opportunity for students to follow their passion and gain exposure to a professional writing experience. This will put them on a sound footing to obtain recognition from one of the renowned educational institutes in Sri Lanka. The entire event will take place virtually given the current pandemic situation in the country.

The event will consist of 3 rounds with specific topics given for each round. The panel of judges will pick 60 articles in Round 01, 25 in Round 02 and 10 in Round 03. The final winners will be presented with awards and certificates of participation. Training workshops for the event were carried out by well-recognized, professional writers and bloggers while the esteemed panel of judges will include several university lecturers, the Founder and Director of a popular magazine as well as the Founder of a leading Public Relations agency.
