DYNAMIC HR PRACTICES OF HNBA AND HNBGI

The ‘people factor’ of an organisation is its greatest strength, making its management crucial in a highly competitive sector such as insurance. HNB Assurance (HNBA) and its fully owned subsidiary HNB General Insurance (HNBGI) have deployed a human resources (HR) strategy for staff that focusses on enriching the lives of employees, both through enhancing quality of time at work as well as providing for greater work-life balance. HNBA is among the fastest-growing insurance companies in Sri Lanka with a network of 56 branches. Following the introduction of segregation rules by the insurance regulator, HNBGI was created and commenced operations in January 2015; HNBGI specialises in motor, non-motor and takaful insurance.
