Colombo slides down the 2019 Global Liveability Index

The city of Colombo has experienced a downgrade in the Global Liveability Index 2019 due to the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks that occurred earlier this year.

Vienna retains its number one spot in the survey for a second consecutive year, followed by Melbourne, Sydney and Osaka.

The Economist Intelligence Unit assesses the living conditions of locations around the world to present the Global Liveability Index every year.

Each city is scored on the basis of over 30 factors broadly categorised under stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.
